Responsible Innovation (RI) has become a prominent idea in the discourse about Science and Society, not only in Europe but also in the rest of the world. I will discuss a number of the unique features of RI that make it different from other approaches to thinking about ethical issues associated with new technology, among them is what I have referred to as “The Design Turn in Applied Ethics”.
